About the Artist

Linda Beach is a pastel artist inspired by the beauty of Cape Cod and the New England landscape. It was a natural progression from using chalk as a teacher to painting landscapes in pastel. After a career as an art educator from Massachusetts to California, Linda now focuses on her own art.  She has enjoyed the challenge of teaching and the perspective that it has brought to her work.

A native of Cohasset, Massachusetts, Linda Sargent Beach received a BA from Wilson College, Pennsylvania and a MS in Art Education from Central Connecticut State University which included study at the Museum School of Fine Arts Boston.  She has studied with master pastelists Doug Dawson, Terri Ford, Kim Lordier, Clark Mitchell, Teresa Saia, and Jeanne Rosier Smith on location and in the studio. Linda continues to seek new methods for her own expressions in landscape.  Her work in natural color often depicts a sense of distance and serenity.

Linda Beach is a board member of the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod and has been juried into national shows. Beach is a juried artist member of the Cape Cod Art Center, Provincetown Art Association and Museum, and the Cape Cod Museum of Art. The artist maintains a home studio in Yarmouthport, Massachusetts, and is an avid plein air painter.  Her award-winning work has been exhibited in group and juried shows in the San Francisco Bay Area, solo shows at Wente Vineyards, California, at Wilson College, and juried shows at Attleboro Art Museum, Cape Cod Museum of Art, and Addison Art Gallery, Orleans, Massachusetts. Her work is found in private collections throughout the United States.
